Pheasant

Uh?
Uh?

What is this landing on my fence?  A nice plump pheasant!  I wonder where it came from?  I looked out of my window at lunch time and there it was.  I think it must be slightly off track, because there are houses all round……..

Perhaps it has escaped the guns (the shooting season is over for this year, isn’t it?) and got lost in the escape.  Can’t imagine what it thought it was doing…..

It spent some time looking into my garden and wondering if it would fly down, but must have decided against, as it turned round and flew down into the garden next door.  Perhaps it saw me wondering what nice plump pheasant would taste like…..

Interesting day for wildlife.  There was a large bee – reddish, not yellow and black – earlier in the day, on the patio.  I thought it was injured at first, but then decided it was just cleaning the hairs on its back.  It flew away, I assume, when I had to get on with  things other than watching bees.

So, a day for different wildlife.  Makes a change from annoying squirrels.
